1070 The Album Show

This  joined  the  ITV  night  time  schedules  at  the  start  of  1994  and  I  regularly  taped  it.  The  Album  Show  was  Whistle  Test  to  The  Chart  Show's  Top  of  the  Pops,  catering  for  a  slightly  older  audience. Unlike  The  Chart  Show,  it  had  an  unseen  presenter  in  Lynn  Parsons.

Because  it  was  a  video-based  show,  it  had  to  stick  largely  to  tracks  that  had  been  released  as  singles  and  didn't  reference  the  actual  album  chart  at  all. The  show  lasted  an  hour  with   two  breaks  and  after  a  while, one  of  the  thirds  was  given  over  to  a  celebrity  guest  picking  some  of  their  favourite  videos. The  ones  I  recall  are  Gary  Numan, Belinda  Carlisle  and  Tony  Hadley.

I  think  it  ran  for  a  couple  of  years.
